Introduction to the sermon, “A Room For You” –
In our gospel reading, Jesus says God’s house has countless rooms. That means there is a place for you! Life is not always easy; there are times of worry and sadness. But the promise of Christ for you stands true. Christ has set aside a room for you.
In the scriptures for this fifth Sunday of Easter, we’re invited to rest in the assurance that our lives are held by a faithful God who meets us with refuge, guidance, and steadfast love. We hear a call to grow into the people God is shaping us to be—rooted in mercy, formed for community, and drawn into a light that redefines who we are. And in the gospel’s tender promises, we’re reminded that even when the way ahead feels uncertain, Christ remains our path, our companion, and the One who prepares a place for us.
As we listen to this sermon, may these themes steady our hearts and open us to the hope God is already placing before us.
