Return Home, Prisoners of Hope

Return Home, Prisoners of Hope

Deacon Lynn shares how even in the worst of situations that we as believers are prisoners of hope. Jesus came to give us a two simple but critical commandments—love God and love your neighbor. The yoke of 600 laws Jews were required to live by were cut to two. He had come not to create despair at our inability to earn righteousness, but to pay the price for a right relationship with God by giving His life. May the Holy Spirit enliven your hope in the midst of our world’s uncertainty. Just remember that we are never alone and our hope comes from God.

In this Gospel reading, Jesus chides people who find fault with both his ministry and that of John the Baptist.  He thanks God that wisdom and intelligence are not needed to receive what God has to offer.

Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30
