Sermon Introduction –
It is by faith that we receive the amazing grace of God. It is by faith that we affirm God’s salvation plan and praise God’s faithfulness through past generations. It is by faith that we experience now in the present his peace, joy and power through the Holy Spirit. It is in the future that by faith we come home to the place he has prepared for us as a member of the family of God. Through it all, faith empowers our praise and helps ensure our growth in grace as we respond to God’s call.
Introduction to our readings –
Jesus says, “It is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” It is God’s promise from the beginning—to Abraham, to the early church, and to the “little flock” of which we are a part in today’s assembly. Faith, God’s baptismal gift, trusts the promises of God. Have no fear.
