Update to our original post: On October 11, 2020 we held our first drive-through communion event in the parking lot at New Hope Lutheran Church. Communion was served to more than 70 individuals. It was a blessing to see so many people that were able to join us. Communion was also delivered to the homes of those who requested it. The following is a brief video that captured some of the highlights of the morning.
Pledge Sunday
and
Drive-Thru Communion
at New Hope Lutheran Church
October 11, 2020
10:30 a.m. – noon
Sunday, October 11th is Pledge Sunday for this year’s Stewardship Campaign, “Give Heartily.” We would like to make an event out of this and have planned a drive-through Holy Communion on the parking lot of New Hope Church for all of those who can join us that day.
Between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and noon, you will have an opportunity to drive through the church parking lot to drop off your pledge card if you have prepared one, make prayer requests, and receive communion from Pastor Craig or Deacon Lynn.
We ask that you follow the directions provided, wear a face mask (when you’re not communing), and stay in your vehicle throughout the event. We look forward to the time when we can gather for worship and be together again, but for now we hope this brief time together will help to “tide us over.”
Directions for the day of the event:
1. Plan on arriving to the church anytime between the hours of 10:30 a.m. and noon. At the top of the driveway, turn right.
2. At the first station near the entrance of the church building there will be a place where you can drop off your pledge card if you have prepared one. Extra cards will be available, if needed. For your convenience you may also drop off any offering.
3. You will be directed to the rear of the lot where you will have time with Pastor Craig or Deacon Lynn for prayer and Holy Communion.
4. Afterwards, continue down the driveway and depart. For safety sake, please exit right on Agoura Road.
Don’t forget to mark you calendars for this special event: Sunday, October 11th. We hope to see you then. Please return the completed response card that was included in the recent Stewardship mailing no later than October 6th.
Please feel no obligation to bring a pledge in order to participate in communion. Holy Communion at New Hope is offered to all who wish to participate. Visitors are welcome too! Just email us at newhope@newhopeagoura.com to let us know you plan to join us.
