40 Days of Lent

40 Days of Lent

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”

Soon after those words are spoken an ashen smudge is placed on the forehead. For the remainder of the day the ashen smudge serves as a visible reminder of whose you are and your core convictions. I am follower of Jesus Christ and in him I believe.

For the next 40 + days you have the opportunity to remember the presence and power of Jesus in your life. During this time of remembering you may have been encouraged to give something up or take something on. In either setting you are invited to pause and remember. It takes discipline to be intentionally devoted for the 40 days of Lent which will deposit us into Holy Week, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.

LENTEN WORSHIP
Our Lenten worships will be held in the Sanctuary every Wednesday beginning March 9th, from 11am until 12:30pm. We will use Holden Evening prayer as our worship platform and you are invited to bring your own lunch. First we will worship and then eat our lunches around the tables.

The 3 Days Service
Celebrating, Remembering, Honoring

New Hope will condense these three days into one worship experience:
Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Holy Saturday. Join us Thursday, April 14th at 6pm. when New Hope will host a three-part worship event that will include Holy Communion. This is our time to remember the last supper Jesus shared with his disciples, Jesus’ crucifixion, and his death and burial.  This 3 Day Service will draw to a close the season of Lent and will propel us into the celebration of Easter, with Jesus’ resurrection and power over sin, death, and the devil. Please join us for this intimate worship of 3 Days.

Blessed be our season of Lent.
