Long time member of New Hope Lutheran Church, Corporal Louis Vincent Fiore, a Vietnam Veteran, served in the United States Marines. During his service, Lou was awarded a Series Honorman Award, a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star Medal, a Gold Star Medal, and a Navy Achievement medal. Now added to his awards is this Quilt of Valor. A Quilt of Valor is a handmade quilt awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”
The Piece Maker Quilt Ladies of New Hope, made this beautiful Quilt of Valor and presented it to Lou during the worship service that was held at New Hope Lutheran Church on July 2, 2023.
