I joined the staff at New Hope Lutheran Church in November of 2007 after retiring from Verizon Telecommunications following a 30-year career.  My granddaughter was born earlier that year and my daughter was already expecting again.  I had intended to pursue a second career following my retirement, but with the second grandchild coming I began thinking how I might be available to help my daughter care for her babies.  I came across an employment ad in the local paper for a part-time position as a Church Office Secretary.  A few weeks later I became a part of the Westlake Lutheran Church team (now New Hope Church.)

I think what I love most about working at New Hope is how it never feels like “work.”  The congregation and staff of New Hope are like family, and the opportunity to be a part the ministry of New Hope has been personally and spiritually fulfilling.

My husband, Steven and I just celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary. We relocated to Moorpark from Orange County in 1994 with our two daughters.  In my personal life, spending time with family, especially my amazing grandkids is my greatest joy.  Taylor is now 14 years old and Dylan is 13. Adventures with them help to keep me young even though they keep getting older; How time flies when you are having fun!
