Snapshots of a Life Changed: Barsabbas

Snapshots of a Life Changed: Barsabbas

Sermon Introduction –

In these seven weeks since Easter we’ve been looking for signs of the Risen Christ in the characters of the early church movement: Thomas, Peter, Philip, Cornelius, and others. Today, we read of a obscure disciple overlooked in most the New Testament: Barsabbas. Though not elected to join the Twelve Disciples, he had encountered Christ. We never hear of the winner (Matthias) again. Barsabbas joins Paul’s missionary work. Honors or not, a snapshot of a life changed is one lived for, by, and in Jesus.

This program will guide you through our worship service

In the days between Jesus’ ascension and Pentecost, Peter oversees the process whereby one of the members of the community of believers is chosen to be the twelfth apostle, in order to fill the vacancy created by Judas’ treachery and death.

Acts 1:15-17, 21-26
