Mission Endowment Fund

Mission Endowment Fund

The New Hope Lutheran Church Mission Endowment Fund has been established to provide a perpetual source of income to support mission work at home and around the world.

By creating this financial pathway, the Mission Endowment Fund allows us to partner in God’s work in the Conejo Valley and elsewhere in the mission field.

The Fund makes distributions to support religious, charitable and educational purposes.

Fund Distribution
Requests for funds are reviewed two times a year or more frequently at the discretion of the Endowment Committee. Funds available for distribution vary as amounts are based on earnings/dividends derived from gifts/bequests.

In December of 2020, the New Hope Lutheran Church Council approved an Endowment fund grant of one thousand dollars to support the Prince of Peace Food Pantry.  Since then, the Endowment committee evaluated four additional grant proposals that ranged from foreign opportunities, ELCA churches, Southwest California Synod functions and non-profits in the Conejo Valley.  The committee evaluated the proposals, in part, for their impact on the community, how a grant would impact the project and how New Hope already supports the non-profit.

The New Hope Church Council approved the recommendation made by the committee of the Mission Endowment Fund for funding the following two grants:

  •  Assistance League of Conejo Valley to support their Adult Vision Care program [$3,600]
  •  Lutheran Retreats, Camps & Conferences (LRCC) for several cabin window replacements [$400]
